The-Social-American-Tavern is seeking an energetic Breakfast Host / Server in Milwaukee to deliver exceptional hospitality during breakfast service. You will greet guests, seat them, take orders, and ensure timely, accurate service while maintaining a clean and organized breakfast area.

Breakfast Hosts provide attentive, dynamic, and inspiring buffet and tableside service for our breakfast guests. Breakfast Hosts must be proactive in handling guest needs, be highly engaging and service-oriented, and take a creative approach to problem solving. The primary responsibility of a Breakfast Host is to deliver and exceed guest expectations, resolve challenges, uphold food safety standards, and maintain excellent communication with guests, peers, and supervisors.

What you'll be doing...

• Prepare the breakfast area for service by cleaning guest and service spaces and stocking essential supplies for ease of use.
• Effectively engage and build rapport with guests to identify needs and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Proactively communicate special needs or requests and take ownership to resolve guest challenges, working collaboratively with the restaurant team.
• Maintain cleanliness of breakfast spaces throughout and after shift, completing side work and stocking as needed or assigned.
• Always maintain professionalism consistent with restaurant and company expectations.
• Know and communicate restaurant emergency procedures; inform and assist guests in emergencies.
• Take on additional tasks as necessary or assigned by restaurant leadership.

Exceptional Guest Service

• Warmly greet and welcome every guest with a genuine smile and positive attitude.
• Create an inviting and memorable breakfast experience for hotel guests and restaurant visitors.
• Seat guests, take orders, serve food and beverages, and ensure timely, accurate service.
• Remain attentive to guests throughout their dining experience, anticipating needs before they have to ask.
• Check on guests regularly, promptly refill beverages, and proactively offer assistance.
• Address guest concerns professionally and with a sense of urgency.
• Maintain a friendly, upbeat, and professional presence throughout every shift.

Cleanliness & Dining Room Presentation

• Maintain an exceptionally clean, organized, and welcoming restaurant at all times.
• Clean as you go! Immediately clear dishes, wipe surfaces, reset tables, and address spills or messes.
• Continuously monitor the dining room, host stand, service stations, and surrounding areas.
• Ensure tables, chairs, floors, menus, and service areas are clean and guest-ready.
• Complete opening, ongoing, and closing cleaning responsibilities without needing reminders.
• Take pride in the overall appearance and presentation of the restaurant.

Teamwork & Productivity

• Remain actively engaged and productive throughout the shift.
• Look for opportunities to assist guests and coworkers during slower periods.
• Support food running, bussing, restocking, and other restaurant operations as needed.
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen and restaurant team.
• Anticipate what needs to be done next rather than waiting for direction.
• Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow through consistently.
• Maintain a sense of urgency while ensuring service is never rushed or impersonal.
