General Responsibilities
Responsible for setting up and closing the breakfast area, managing inventory and ordering breakfast food and supplies, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and assisting guests and staff to ensure a positive experience. The role emphasizes building quick, informal, and comfortable relationships with others, requiring attentiveness, empathy, and the ability to read and listen to people. The job involves working with others to achieve common goals through understanding and persuasion.
Supervision Received/Provided
This position is supervised at a standard level by a member of the management team as assigned.
Essential Duties
- Provide a warm, inviting atmosphere for guests by greeting and assisting them based on business levels.
- Set up the breakfast room with food and amenities; maintain adequate supplies during service hours.
- Keep milk, juice, and coffee machines filled and clean.
- Report any damage, hazards, or defective equipment to the supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of food displays, appliances, work, and eating areas.
- Manage assigned keys following hotel key control policies.
- Assist with other duties as requested by management.
Task List
- Greet guests and serve them when seated, when possible.
- Replenish food, drinks, and supplies to meet guest needs.
- Remove damaged items during setup or as needed.
- Follow food safety policies and procedures.
- Clean display, heating, cooling, and holding equipment using proper safety procedures.
- Empty trash, replace liners, and wipe containers as needed.
- Restock and organize pantry and storage areas.
- Assist guests or staff with requests.
- Wash utensils and serving items following safety protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness of the breakfast area, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and wiping surfaces.
- Submit a list of needed items to the supervisor as scheduled or requested.
Other Duties
- Participate in property or department meetings.
- Accurately use the time clock for clock-in/out and lunch breaks.
- Coordinate with other departments to meet guest requests.
- Perform special projects based on capabilities and knowledge.
