Overview: The Breakfast Attendant at Homewood Suites Portsmouth provides exceptional service to guests in the breakfast area, ensuring efficiency and courtesy.

Responsibilities:

  1. Approach all guest and employee interactions with friendliness and professionalism.
  2. Maintain high personal appearance and grooming standards, including proper uniform and name tag.
  3. Greet and seat guests promptly.
  4. Ensure cleanliness and appearance of menus.
  5. Clear, clean, and reset tables and hotel spaces as instructed.
  6. Stock and organize service areas, complete side work.
  7. Accommodate guest requests and offer alternatives.
  8. Communicate with departments regarding VIP guests.
  9. Support beverage and food service, including dishwashing, restocking, cleaning, and floor maintenance.
  10. Know standards for room service orders.
  11. Be knowledgeable about menus and specials.
  12. Handle cashiering duties at check-out and shift end.
  13. Perform opening and closing procedures and side work duties.
  14. Answer questions about the hotel, local attractions, and services.
  15. Perform additional duties and attend meetings as needed.
  16. Produce high-quality drinks, including specialty coffee, tea, cocktails, and other beverage requests.

Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy in job performance.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred; hotel or related experience a plus.
  • Willingness to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Legal age to serve alcohol and pass responsible serving training such as TIPs.
  • Ability to obtain a Food Handlers card.
  • Quick and accurate decision-making skills.
  • Ability to handle stress professionally.
  • Understanding of hotel products and guest services.
  • Professional communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and service-oriented mindset.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage standards, etiquette, and guest relations.
