Job Summary

The Company operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting and ending times, and hours worked in a week.

The Food & Beverage attendant will join our Homewood Suites team and will be responsible for ensuring that all food and beverage offered as part of our breakfast & evening gatherings are served to guests according to Company standards.

The ideal candidate is friendly, optimistic, detail-oriented, has an outgoing personality, enjoys working with people and on a team; has a proven passion and ability to anticipate and exceed our guests' needs; has knowledge of food and beverage operations; can comprehend and deliver service standards; excels at guest and team member relations and etiquette; and understands the importance of complying with applicable health and safety regulations.

Breakfast shifts may begin as early as 5:30 AM and are 7 days a week. The hotel management team will ensure proper days off are provided. The position is part time, with the opportunity to go full time based on availability and hours worked weekly.

Essential Functions

Primary duties include:

  • Reporting emergencies, accidents, injuries, damage, safety hazards to management.
  • Reporting deviations from policies, procedures, standards, and regulations.
  • Complying with guest service basics such as uniforms, name tags, and proper greeting.
  • Being knowledgeable about hotel facilities and services to assist guests.
  • Ensuring all communication complies with privacy policies and regulations.
  • Providing quality and timely service in a friendly manner.
  • Maintaining knowledge of departmental policies and equipment use.
  • Anticipating guest and team member needs, responding promptly, and acknowledging all guests and team members.
  • Responding positively and calmly to guests and team members.
  • Resolving guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas.
  • Complying with liquor regulations, especially regarding minors and intoxicated persons.
  • Transporting food safely from kitchen to guests.
  • Setting up buffets and condiments according to standards.
  • Ensuring sufficient supplies of silverware, glassware, and chinaware.
  • Greeting guests and assisting with seating or clearing tables.
  • Monitoring surroundings and reporting concerns.
  • Opening and serving wine/champagne for events.
  • Serving food and beverages according to standards.
  • Completing closing duties and restocking for the next day.
  • Attending training and meetings as scheduled.
  • Performing other duties as requested.
Qualifications

The company may consider equivalent education and experience providing the following:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of related experience
  • Familiarity with hospitality practices preferred

Working Conditions & Physical Effort

Must be able to lift and transport at least 50 pounds, push/pull equipment up to 250 pounds, and stand for extended periods. Work is primarily indoors in a hotel environment.
