Overview

The Breakfast Attendant provides exceptional guest service in an efficient and courteous manner within the hotel’s complimentary breakfast area.

Responsibilities
  1. Greet and seat guests promptly, ensuring a friendly and courteous interaction.
  2. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag.
  3. Ensure cleanliness and quality of menus and service areas.
  4. Clear, clean, and reset tables and hotel spaces as per instructions.
  5. Stock, organize, and maintain cleanliness of all service areas, completing side work each shift.
  6. Attend to guest requests and offer alternatives when necessary.
  7. Coordinate with departments regarding VIP guests.
  8. Support food and beverage service, including washing dishes, restocking, sweeping, mopping, and trash disposal.
  9. Know standards for room service orders and menu details.
  10. Handle cashiering duties, including closing checks and end-of-shift paperwork.
  11. Perform opening and closing procedures and side work duties as assigned.
  12. Answer questions about the hotel, local attractions, and services.
  13. Perform additional duties or attend meetings as required.
  14. Prepare high-quality drinks, including specialty coffee, tea, cocktails, and other beverages as needed.
Qualifications
  1. Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy in job performance.
  2. High School diploma or equivalent preferred; hotel or related experience is a plus.
  3. Willingness to work varied schedules, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  4. Legal age to serve alcohol and passing responsible serving training such as TIPs.
  5. Ability to obtain a Food Handlers card as required.
  6. Quick and accurate decision-making skills.
  7. Ability to remain calm and professional under stress.
  8. Understanding of hotel products and guest services.
  9. Effective communication skills with guests and team members.
  10. Positive attitude and service-oriented mindset.
  11. Basic knowledge of food and beverage standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  12. Basic math skills for operations.
  13. Ability to read and write simple instructions and communications.
  14. Patience, tact, and diplomacy in customer interactions.
  15. Willingness to learn, support team members, and respond positively to guests and coworkers.
