Backed by Gryphon Investors, Shermco is poised for growth and success in the electrical maintenance sector. We are seeking an experienced Circuit Breaker Technician to join our team in Irving, TX.

Job Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Work on low & medium voltage circuit breakers, including brands like GE, Westinghouse, Powell, ABB, ITE, among others.
• Troubleshoot, rebuild, retrofit, test, and repair low, medium, and high voltage switchgear, including teardown and assembly of breakers, contactors, and related electrical apparatus such as high-voltage (up to 3000A, SF-6 Vacuum Circuit Breakers, 13.8kV, 11kV), medium-voltage (up to 3100A, Vacuum Circuit Breakers, 15.5kV, 4.16kV), and low-voltage switchgear (up to 3000A, Air Circuit Breakers, 480V, 400V).

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED; electro-mechanical training from trade school, apprenticeship, or armed services preferred.
• Experience with circuit breakers from 480V to 15KV is desired.
• PEARL breaker certification is a plus.
• Testing skills and understanding of electrical and mechanical testing procedures preferred.
• Experience at an OEM breaker manufacturer is advantageous.
• Strong mechanical skills, including experience with engines, pneumatics, hydraulics, or diesel equipment, are beneficial.
• Knowledge of power systems, circuit breakers, and switchgear is desirable.
• Ability to use testing tools such as Megger, digital multimeter, Hi-Pot tester, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Willingness to travel overnight for onsite testing and repairs.

Other Requirements:

• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Physically capable of crawling, climbing, lifting up to 75 lbs., and passing a physical exam.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Willing to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, holidays, and nights.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Willing to travel at least 40% of the time.
