Job summary

A Break Press Operator position is available in Fridley, MN through Award Staffing. The role covers a weekend AM shift (Friday–Sunday) with hours from 5:30 AM to 6:00 PM, paid for 40 hours though scheduled for 36.

This temp-to-hire position requires reading project docs, basic math, and the ability to lift 30 pounds. Applicants should have at least 2 years of break press experience or transferable skills, plus strong teamwork and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret project documentation.
• Basic math skills.
• 2 years of break press or transferable experience.
• Willing to learn new skills.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds repeatedly during the shift.
• Regularly uses hands and fingers to manipulate a wide variety of high precision tools.
• Regularly bends, twists, stoops, pushes, pulls, and reaches with hands and arms. Must be able to stand or sit as needed for the entire shift.
• Good vision and hearing are required.
• Must have moderate physical strength and stamina, hand-eye coordination and dexterity in hand manipulation and muscle coordination.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand project specifications, use the computer interface, load materials, and ensure safety and product quality.
• Establish and maintain a high level of machinery knowledge.
• Form metal parts according to project specifications.
• Track quantity and quality of work.
• Prep parts for next production steps.
• Ensure machinery is performing as intended.
• Keep a clean, orderly work area.
• Work safely and wear PPE.
• Take instructions from shift leads and experienced operators.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
