Job summary

Peco Foods, Inc. in West Point, MS is seeking a production associate to operate the breader/breading machines, ensure proper coating, and maintain GMP hygiene.

You will inspect products for defects, lift up to 50 pounds, and report any abnormal situations to supervision. The role requires standing most of the day in a dusty environment and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Operate the breader/breading machines.
• Follow proper procedure for dumping bags of flour/breading.
• Lift up to 50 pounds as required.
• Monitor coating to ensure proper product coverage.
• Maintain high personal hygiene in line with GMP policies.
• Physically inspect products for defects (natural and processing).
• Identify and report abnormal or suspicious situations to supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Operate breading equipment to apply coating evenly.
• Ensure correct bag handling and material dumping procedures.
• Inspect products for quality and defect detection.
• Maintain cleanliness and comply with GMP standards throughout production.
• Report abnormal situations to plant management immediately.

Job description

• Know and understand the breader/breading machines operation.
• Know and understand the proper procedure for dumping bags of flour / breading.
• Be able to lift and dump bags of flour / breading (up to 50 pounds each).
• Monitor the breading process to ensure product is properly coated.
• Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with plant GMP policies.
• Physically inspect products for both natural occurring and processing defects.

o Natural occurring defect i.e. bruises and blood spots.

o Processing defects would be but not limited to foreign material and out of spec product.

Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or plant management official.

Abnormal situation would be:

Unauthorized employees in restricted areas

Situation where a belief that product adulteration may be occurring

Equipment malfunction that may put product wholesomeness at stake

Physical Demands:

• Working at temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit
• Standing / walking 100% of the workday
• Lifting up to 50 pounds on a constant basis.
• Working in dusty environment.
