Job summary

Peco Foods, Inc. in West Point, MS is hiring a production worker to operate breading lines and ensure product coating quality. The role requires following customer specifications for breading and maintaining sanitation standards on the line.

The employee will be lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for most of the shift, and reporting any anomalies or equipment malfunctions to supervision. GMP compliance and safety are emphasized throughout the shift.

Qualifications

• Experience operating breading or food-processing equipment is required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Commitment to GMP and personal hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate breader/breading machines following customer specs.
• Dump bags of flour/breading safely and accurately.
• Monitor coating process to ensure consistent coverage.
• Inspect products for defects and report issues to supervisor.
• Maintain housekeeping and comply with GMP policies.

Job description

• Know and understand the breader/breading machines operation.
• Know and understand the proper breading flour to use for each product as per customer specifications.
• Know and understand the proper procedure for dumping bags of flour / breading.
• Be able to lift and dump bags of flour / breading (up to 50 pounds each).
• Monitor the breading process to insure product is properly coated.
• Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with plant GMP policies.
• Physically inspect products for both natural occurring and processing defects.

oNatural occurring defect i.e. bruises and blood spots.

oProcessing defects would be but not limited to foreign material and out of spec product.

Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or plant management official.

Abnormal situation would be:

Unauthorized employees in restricted areas

Situation where a belief that product adulteration may be occurring

Equipment malfunction that may put product wholesomeness at stake

• Working at temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit
• Standing / walking 100% of the workday
• Lifting up to 50 pounds on a constant basis.
