Job summary

Peco-Foods in West Point, MS is seeking a production associate to operate breader/breading machines, select the correct breading flour per customer specs, and ensure proper dumping of flour and breading. You will lift up to 50 pounds and maintain a high level of personal hygiene in line with GMP policies.

You will also monitor coating, inspect for defects, and report any abnormal situations to supervision. Expect a 38°F environment with standing throughout the shift and potential exposure to

Responsibilities

• Know and understand the breader/breading machines operation.
• Know and understand the proper breading flour to use for each product as per customer specifications.
• Know and understand the proper procedure for dumping bags of flour / breading.
• Be able to lift and dump bags of flour / breading (up to 50 pounds each).
• Monitor the breading process to insure product is properly coated.
• Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with plant GMP policies.
• Physically inspect products for both natural occurring and processing defects.
• Natural occurring defect i.e. bruises and blood spots.
• Processing defects would be but not limited to foreign material and out of spec product.
• Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or plant management official.
• Abnormal situation would be: Unauthorized employees in restricted areas
• Abnormal situation would be: Situation where a belief that product adulteration may be occurring
• Abnormal situation would be: Equipment malfunction that may put product wholesomeness at stake
• Working at temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit
• Standing / walking 100% of the workday
• Lifting up to 50 pounds on a constant basis.
