Job summary

Grand Central Bakery seeks a Bread Expeditor 1 to bridge Bread Production and Delivery. You will pull and expedite orders, slice, and package products accurately while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The position is full-time, non-exempt and overtime eligible. Schedule flexibility includes weekends and holidays; reports to Delivery Assistant Manager and Expeditor Coordinator is typical. This role supports a culture focused on sustainability and community impact.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Working knowledge of and ability to speak and understand basic English required.
• Maintains a valid Food Handler's Card and follows health department guidelines.
• Must demonstrate regular attendance by coming to work on scheduled days.
• HS diploma/GED preferred.
• Basic math skills required.
• Ability to function calmly and efficiently in a high-pressure, multi-task, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Pulls orders, slices, and packages all products in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
• Differentiates between and describes products.
• Maintains accurate counts of products.
• Operates bread and bun slicers safely and efficiently.
• Meets quality and pace expectations as per training requirements.
• Keeps delivery and expediting areas clean and orderly.
• Follows HACCP training and maintains records and food safety goals.
• Communicates critical information to the Expeditor Coordinator or Manager promptly.
• Collaborates with team and delivers excellent customer service.
• Knows and aligns with Grand Central Bakery's mission, vision, and values.
• Notifies management of hazards or issues in the workplace.
