Covenant Health's Peninsula Behavioral Health unit seeks a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for Unit C - IDD. This part-time role involves 48 hours per pay period with day shifts, supporting assessment, planning, and supervision within a dedicated care team.

Qualifications

  • Active BCBA certification is required.
  • Prior experience in behavioral health or autism services is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial intakes and behavioral assessments with care planning.
  • Develop Behavioral Intervention Plans to reduce harmful behaviors.
  • Supervise and mentor RBTs and staff under supervision.
  • Coordinate with families and referral sources for information and progress.
  • Document and update care records; monitor data and adjust plans.

Position Summary:

Provides professional behavioral assessment, care coordination, training, and supervision to a designated patient population. The general practice of BCBA may include completing behavioral assessments, treatment planning, data analysis, family education and training, problem solving, staff supervision and client and referral agency education, and advocacy.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial intakes and behavioral assessments identifying problem behaviors and goals of care. This may involve coordinating with referral sources and families for additional information when needed.
  • Develop customized Behavioral Intervention Plans to decrease harmful behaviors and to increase functional communication and adaptive skills.
  • Completes required documentation and appropriate updates to various systems for care coordination.
  • Providers direct supervision and mentoring to all Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) and other staff as needed.
  • Connects patients/family/significant other with community resources to aid in their treatment and recovery if appropriate.
  • Acts as facility liaison with adult and children protective services as indicated.
  • Cooperates with hospital staff and physicians and keeps them informed of progress with patients.
  • Exhibits the skills of empathy, communication, organization, critical thinking, active listening, and patience.
  • Tracks and analyzes client data to determine if interventions are affecting and makes data-driven adjustments to treatment planning as necessary.
  • Provides education and training to family members and caregivers to reinforce skills.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Master’s degree from accredited behavior analysis or psychology program OR Master’s degree in education.

Licensure Requirement:

Must hold an active Board-Certified Behavior Analyst Certification.
