Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas in Staunton, VA is hiring a Line Assembler for brazing and final assembly in a climate-controlled facility. Starting wage is $27.13 per hour plus a $2.30 shift differential for 2nd shift; first shift runs 6:00 am–2:00 pm and second shift 1:50 pm–9:50 pm, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 2+ years manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to lift/move materials and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform line assembler duties to complete brazing tasks as assigned.
• Adhere to safety rules and PPE requirements.
• Read blueprints, schematics, BOMs, routing sheets, and OMS documents.
• Operate tools and equipment to assemble, test, and move components and assemblies.
• Use measuring devices and visual checks to ensure quality per prints and standards.
• Maintain records and report line issues in data systems.
• Complete required skills training (e.g., crane and fall protection).
• Perform preventative maintenance on braze equipment daily.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform Line Assembler duties as assigned and as needed to effectuate the completion of brazing and brazing duties at assigned work areas
• Demonstrate the ability to adhere to and remain in compliance with all safety rules and PPE requirements
• Successfully complete classroom and DOJO training (copper to copper brazing, copper to brass brazing, copper to steel brazing and know the five stages of flux)
• Read, understand, and work from blueprints, schematics, bills of material, routing sheets, applicable OMS documents, and other written, electronic, or verbal instruction
• Work with materials to complete assigned tasks to meet production requirements
• Operate tools and equipment to assemble, test, handle, manipulate, and move components, assemblies, and final product
• Use measuring and testing devices as well as visual inspection to ensure the quality products and conformity to all prints, work instructions, and quality standards
• Maintain required records including but not limited to quality checklists, input into specified electronic systems and reporting of all line issues into the appropriate data collection systems
• Successful completion of required skills training (e.g. crane and tugger operation, fall protection, etc.)
• Preventative Maintenance daily on all braze equipment

Your Qualifications

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time
• The ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment
