Job summary

Microwave Techniques in Gorham, Maine seeks an experienced Brazing specialist to join our Components Division. The ideal candidate has at least two years of brazing or welding experience and can read complex drawings and work tickets to produce high-quality joints.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' brazing or welding experience (training available for right candidate).
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, blueprints, and work tickets.
• Knowledge of metal properties and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Use heat, torches, furnaces, alloys, solder, flux to join or bond workpieces.
• Braise metal parts to assemble products per blueprints and tickets.
• Set up pieces with fixtures, jigs, clamps, squares and vises.
• Read complex drawings and work tickets.
• Apply hand torches and measuring tools to produce precise components.
• Inspect joints and correct defects as required.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure orders meet specifications.

Our Components Division, located in Gorham, Maine is looking for an experienced Brazer. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 or more years of experience, but can train the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Uses heat, torches, furnaces, alloys, solder, flux and a variety of techniques to join or bond workpieces
• Brazes metal parts to assemble products as specified by blueprints and work tickets
• Sets up work pieces, using fixtures, jigs, clamps, squares and vises based on the needs of the product
• Ability to read complex drawings, blueprints and work tickets
• Apply hand torches, hand tools, measuring instruments and shop math to produce mechanically oriented products
• Workpiece joint cleaning techniques including manual tools and dipped cleaning solutions
• Selection of torch tip, flux, and brazing alloy from data charts appropriate for the work order
• Inspection of product quality, and correction of defective joints and seams as required
• Cross-department communication to ensure the product is engineered, manufactured, tested, and shipped in accordance with the order specifications and contractual requirements

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years' previous experience but will train the right candidate
• Experience with brazing and/or welding techniques and materials preferred
• Knowledgeable of metalworking safety protocols
• Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties
• Detail oriented with strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a team setting
• Aptitude of technical and functional terms, techniques, and processes
• High attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality components
• Takes initiative, proactive, positive, and willing to learn

This is a full-time position in Gorham, Maine, Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30pm
