Job summary

The New School’s Brass Area in the College of Performing Arts seeks a motivated student for the Brass Area, Student Assistant role. You will support rehearsals, scheduling, and coordination with the Production Office and Library, and assist in master class coordination under the Program & Administration Manager.

This on-campus position offers exposure to orchestral and classical music operations, with responsibilities across departmental activities and master classes, preparing you for a career

Qualifications

• Current student in the Brass area (BM, MM, or PDPL in Orchestral Instruments) with a concentration in Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, or Tuba.
• Previous administrative experience.
• Recipient of Federal Work Study award preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with rehearsals and scheduling of Brass Department activities.
• Liaise and coordinate with the College of Performing Arts Production Office and Library as needed.
• Assist in Master Class coordination and promotion.
• Assist with Departmental activities in coordination with Co-Chairs and as assigned by the Program & Administration Manager.
• Additional duties as assigned.
