Job summary

The Mannes School of Music at The New School seeks a Staff Pianist, Senior Student Assistant Specialist to accompany students in lessons and performances on campus. This in-person role supports collaborative music making within the College of Performing Arts.

Open to student applicants and reporting to the Performance and Ensemble Manager, the position offers about 10 hours per week, with flexibility up to 20 hours. Pay is $25/hour.

Qualifications

• Current Mannes BM, MM, or PDPL student enrolled.
• Experience in collaborative piano and accompanying lessons.
• Knowledge of art songs, lieder, sonatas, concertos repertoire.

Responsibilities

• Accompany students in private lessons, masterclasses, juries, and other performances.
• Learn assigned music prior to collaborating with fellow students.
• Maintain professionalism with students, faculty, staff, and audience members.
• Adhere to departmental guidelines regarding reporting hours and payroll deadlines.
