Job summary

Darling Ingredients seeks a seasoned Customer Relationship Manager to be the primary liaison for national and branded customers, coordinating service and support across DAR PRO facilities, internal departments, and third-party providers.

You will maintain comprehensive customer records, ensure accurate billing and contract compliance, and partner with cross-functional teams to support retention and business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead service communications and analyze data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain comprehensive customer records.
  • Coordinate with accounting and operations for billing and contracts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Serve as primary liaison for major accounts on service issues and changes.
  • Manage relationships with national, branded, high-value accounts and brokers.
  • Escalate complex service issues and oversee resolution.
  • Evaluate situations and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyze service performance data and recommend process improvements.
  • Coordinate activities among customers, operations, accounting, and vendors.
  • Ensure accuracy of customer records and billing information.
  • Partner with leadership to support retention and objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

This position serves as the primary relationship manager and strategic point of contact for national and branded customers, coordinating service and support activities across DAR PRO facilities, internal departments, and third-party service providers.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Leads service communications, analyzes customer and operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and develops recommendations to enhance service performance
  • Maintains comprehensive customer records
  • Coordinates with accounting and operational teams to ensure accurate billing, payment processing, and contract compliance
  • Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Serves as the primary liaison for many of the organization’s largest and most strategically important customer accounts regarding service issues, account maintenance, and operational changes.
  • Manages and maintains relationships with national, branded, and high-value customer accounts as well as third-party vendors and brokers
  • Serves as the primary escalation point for complex service-related issues and customer concerns overseeing issue resolution through completion
  • Evaluates customer situations to determine appropriate resolutions and implements corrective actions
  • Analyzes service performance data, identify trends, and recommend process improvements
  • Coordinates activities among customers, operations teams, accounting departments, and third-party service providers.
  • Ensures the accuracy of customer records, billing information, and account documentation.
  • Partners with leadership and cross-functional teams to support customer retention, satisfaction, and business objectives

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of customer service experience in an office or corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in business technologies, including CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong multitasking, time management, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to effectively manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to respond promptly, professionally, and proactively
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems, processes, and business requirements quickly.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and solve problems with minimal direction
  • Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to delivering quality service and support
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree
  • Previous experience mentoring, training, or providing guidance to team members.
  • Self-motivated with a positive, professional, and solutions-oriented attitude.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering practical customer solutions.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and decisiveness in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Experience with Windows, Oracle, or other enterprise business systems.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands

For an office-based position, work is primarily performed in a professional indoor environment with minimal exposure to physical hazards. The role requires extended periods of sitting, frequent use of a computer and telephone, and occasional standing, walking, bending, or lifting light items up to 25 pounds.
