Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking an Account Executive to drive profitable volume growth across all lines of business in Restaurant Services. You will engage restaurants and food service establishments, communicate Darling's value, and solve problems with data-driven communication.

Key duties include expanding existing accounts, developing new relationships, and negotiating service agreements while coordinating with operations to ensure quality service and efficient plant location handling.

The Account Executive is responsible for profitable volume growth of all Lines of Business sold by the Restaurant Services Department. The Account Executive interacts with current & prospective customers to retain & grow volume with emphasis on prompt customer service as well as solicitation of potential customers including restaurants and food service establishments. Must be able to effectively communicate and convey Darling's value proposition along with the ability to problem solve through data driven communication.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Engage with existing customers to increase overall relationship span that conveys Darling's core competencies while delivering profitable volume growth.
• Develop relationships with new and existing clients through personal contact or from internal leads supplied by the Customer Engagement Center.
• Establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on potential or existing customers.
• Grow profitability by retaining and growing high volume and multi-unit accounts in territory to meet or exceed company goals/objectives.
• Understand product values; evaluate profitability of new and existing customers.
• Implement sales strategies, and follow through to successful contract negotiation; prepare and execute service agreements.
• Regularly utilize CRM for new and existing customer profiling including data entry of required fields necessary for overall brand management.
• Conduct site and equipment surveys and facilitate installs during pre and post-sales processes
• Work closely with Operations & Logistics teams to provide quality service to customers and efficient handling of material at plant locations.
• Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems and developing solutions while making recommendations to management.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of sales experience, preferably within the restaurant or foodservice industry.
• Ability to travel up to 50% as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, problem solving, and time-management skills
• Demonstrated computer skills/knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office, CRM and Oracle systems.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and follow through on commitments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM, and Oracle systems.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Frequent travel to off-site locations is required.
• Requires prolonged sitting and movement throughout office/work locations, as well as occasional use of computers and office equipment.
• Must occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb or balance.
• May occasionally involve exposure to high noise levels, strong odors, varying temperatures, biohazardous conditions, chemicals, electrical hazards, and potentially dangerous equipment.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and identify potential workplace hazards.
• Requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
