Overview

The Brand Manager - Strategic Initiatives position offers an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, family-owned leader in the consumer small appliances industry. The candidate will play a key role in developing categories and new business opportunities aligned with BISSELL's growth ambitions. The Brand Manager reports to the Category Director and will lead the development and commercial launch of new products. Involvement in global consumer insights work will help shape future innovations. This role involves taking products from conception to market launch worldwide, managing everything from success criteria and product specs to channel strategy, packaging, and point of purchase (POP). The position requires experience in consumer product development and a BA/BS in marketing or a related field. Proven experience in consumer program development, line extension, sales, and leading cross-functional teams is essential.

Responsibilities

  1. Identify and define consumer needs, championing the voice of the consumer on all projects.
  2. Collaborate with the category director and marketing research to define consumer needs for development programs.
  3. Develop, implement, execute, and manage new product launches and maintain existing product lines.
  4. Lead marketing efforts for innovation projects, representing marketing, sales, and consumer services to R&D, finance, manufacturing, and GPD teams.
  5. Work with the category director and sales to develop line objectives, channel management, and distribution strategies. Collaborate with key accounts to optimize in-store productivity, gross profit, and customer satisfaction.
  6. Develop and manage merchandising, packaging, advertising, and promotional programs with support from communications and account management teams.
  7. Monitor competitive activities and develop strategies or new launches accordingly.
  8. Communicate effectively with top management, project teams, manufacturing, and other associates.
  9. Coordinate with team members to meet timelines and budgets, keeping the Category Director informed of key issues.
  10. Participate in marketing and sales projects as needed.
  11. Understand and be accountable for the category’s goals, including profitability, and develop tactical initiatives to meet or exceed them.
  12. Assist in planning and updating development processes.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience/Education
