Job summary

The Nevada Department of Agriculture, Division of Animal Industry, seeks a Supervisor 2, Brand Inspector in Elko to oversee statewide brand inspections and verify ownership for transfers and transport.

You will supervise Brand Inspector I and II staff, schedule work, train personnel, and ensure compliance with state laws. Requires three+ years of relevant experience and supervisory background.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of applicable experience with a minimum of one year supervisory experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Knowledge of interstate livestock movement requirements and brand inspection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect livestock for brands and identifiers to determine ownership.
• Train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate Brand Inspector staff statewide.
• Oversee planning and execution of brand inspections for various ownership or transport scenarios.
• Calculate and collect inspection fees and maintain accurate documentation.
• Prepare reports on activities and maintain licenses and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with NDA policies and state regulations.
