Job summary

Cuyahoga County Public Library in Mayfield, OH is seeking a Reference & Technology Librarian to deliver reference and reader advisory services and teach technology classes. The role includes collection development and community outreach to promote literacy and digital skills.

Under supervision, you may supervise staff and serve as branch lead as needed, ensuring excellent customer service and guiding patrons through library resources and programs to meet community needs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library Science or equivalent from an ALA accredited library school.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• Expertise in specialty area strongly preferred; generalist with strong technology skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides reference, reader advisory and technology guidance to library customers.
• Participates in collection development and maintenance with supervisor and staff.
• Instructs customers in the use of library equipment and computers.
• Organizes programs and book discussions; publicizes library materials and services.
• Delivers computer/technology education classes under supervision.
• Develops cooperative relationships with local organizations and agencies.
• May supervise part-time staff and act as branch Head of Department when needed.
