Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library Science from an accredited ALA program.
• Strong commitment to information literacy instruction and teaching in multiple formats.
• Ability to provide individual research assistance in person or online.
• Experience with automated library systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in database searching and information retrieval.
• Ability to teach students, faculty and staff to use current information tools ethically and critically.
• Familiarity with trends in information literacy and critical thinking.
• Teaching experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite or equivalent.
• Knowledge of curriculum design and instructional methods.

Responsibilities

• Provide lectures and instruction to students on topics related to a discipline.
• Evaluate and grade students’ work and prepare course materials.
• Maintain attendance records and other required data.
• Advise students on curricula and career issues.
• Plan and revise curricula and teaching content.
• Administer and grade examinations.
• Collaborate with colleagues on teaching and research.
• Maintain office hours for student support.
• Select and obtain textbooks and equipment.
• Participate in committees and campus events.
