Job summary

Grainger in Chicago is seeking a Branch Sales Associate to connect with walk-in customers, assist with product selection, and process orders. You will safely pick and load products, maximize sales opportunities, and adapt communication to customers in person, by phone, or email.

You'll perform warehouse tasks, handle backorders, merchandize, conduct inventory counts, learn multiple computer systems, and maintain Grainger standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire customer experience, including product selection, order entry, picking, and loading vehicles.
• Look for ways to maximize sales opportunities and encourage loyalty.
• Adapt communication style for email, phone, or in-person interactions.
• Pick, prepare, and stage will call orders and shipping product.
• Prepare backorders and stock received.
• Help with merchandising and showroom replenishment.
• Perform inventory counts.
• Learn and navigate multiple computer systems for customer-facing and warehouse activities.
• Maintain branch appearance and perform housekeeping to Grainger standards.
• Agree to safety guidelines and wear PPE as required.
