Job summary

Grainger is seeking a customer-experience driven associate at our Silverdale branch to manage the full customer experience, assist with product selection, order entry, picking, loading vehicles, and in-store merchandising.

You will use our warehouse and point-of-sale systems, perform inventory counts, support showroom replenishment, and uphold safety guidelines; flexibility to work branch hours and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire customer experience including product selection and accurate order entry.
• Safely pick product and load customer vehicles; stage will-call orders.
• Assist with merchandising, showroom replenishment, and inventory counts.
• Navigate computer systems for customer-facing and warehouse activities.
• Follow safety guidelines and report to the Branch Manager.

Job description

• Manage the entire customer experience, including appropriate product selection, accurate order entry, safely picking product, and safely loading customer vehicles
• Maximize sales opportunities and encourage customer loyalty
• Adapt communication style to differing audiences by email, phone, and in person
• Pick, prepare, and stage will-call orders and shipping product
• Prepare customer backorders and put away other stock received
• Assist with merchandising and showroom replenishment
• Perform inventory counts
• Navigate computer systems for customer-facing and warehouse activities
• Perform housekeeping tasks to ensure branch appearance meets Grainger standards
• Follow safety guidelines and comply with process standards, including use of personal protective equipment
• Report to the Branch Manager

Requirements

• Flexibility to work any time within branch hours of operation
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance
• Ability to learn and operate powered industrial equipment
• Ability to learn and easily navigate different computer systems for customer-facing and warehouse activities
• Must comply with safety guidelines and process standards, including wearing personal protective equipment
