Job summary

California Bank & Trust in La Jolla is seeking a Branch Relationship Banker (Personal Banker) to deliver full-service banking and build lasting client relationships. You will open new accounts, support lending needs, and connect customers with the right internal partners to provide tailored financial solutions.

We are looking for a full-time Branch Relationship Banker (Personal Banker) to provide top notch customer service to our clients and customers at our Golden Triangle, La Jolla branch. Essential Functions:

• Delivers an exceptional, full-service banking experience to new and existing clients, with a strong focus on relationship-building, sales, and personalized service.
• Brings the branch to life by planning and hosting engaging events and community outreach activities that strengthen local relationships
• Opens new accounts, supports consumer lending needs, and proactively assists clients with a variety of financial services and solutions.
• Acts as a trusted problem-solver by addressing client concerns directly or connecting clients with the right internal partners for additional support.
• Identifies opportunities to deepen relationships by recommending relevant bank products and services, including commercial offerings, based on client needs.
• Builds lasting connections by actively following up with clients and ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience.
• May process cash transactions, open and maintain accounts, and originate and close consumer or small business loans.
• Supports daily branch operations, including transaction processing and additional customer service responsibilities as needed.
• You may be reassigned to an alternate location depending on business needs within a reasonable distance (30 miles of branch location) and given proper notice.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent and 4+ years experience as a universal banker/personal banker or similar retail banking role.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.
• Previous experience in a financial sales representative oriented role preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of mathematical calculations and standard banking products, services and transactions.
• Advanced knowledge of all retail products and services.
• Working knowledge of consumer lending applications.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Effective selling, cross-selling and referral skills.
• Strong mathematical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Ability to analyze customer credit data and other related financial information.
• Advanced interpersonal & relationship building skills.
• Strong attention to detail and time management.

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $26.89 - $29.88 hourly depending on job-related factors such as level of experience.
