Job summary

Cowin Equipment Company in Mableton, GA seeks a Branch Receptionist to serve as the friendly front line for the shop. You will handle the switchboard, typing tasks, mail distribution, and coordination with the IT, Purchasing, Sales and Payroll teams.

The role requires a high school diploma or higher, strong written and verbal communication, and a valid driver’s license. A professional, flexible attitude and the ability to multitask are essential in our family-owned business.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or higher is required.
  • Good communication, telephone and typing/computer skills including Word and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for ~7 hours daily and lift up to 10 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Answer the switchboard and manage telephone equipment at branch level.
  • Distribute incoming and outgoing mail and perform related clerical tasks.
  • Handle all typing for the branch (quotations, purchase orders, invoices, etc.).
  • Maintain filing systems and assist with itineraries for sales staff.
  • Coordinate with Payroll and Purchasing, and assist with miscellaneous duties as needed.

Position: Branch Receptionist
Pre-Requisite:

Must have a pleasant personality and ability to work well with others. Level of education must be high school diploma or higher. Must possess good communication, telephone and typing/computer skills (including Microsoft Word and Excel). Physical capabilities require sitting at a desk approximately 7 hours per day, lifting up to 10lbs. occasionally, and bending or squatting approximately 1 hour per day. Must be substantially flexible regarding miscellaneous duties assigned by supervisor. A valid driver’s license with a reasonable driving record must be maintained.

Primary Job Duties:
  • The co-worker in this position will be a “Jack of All Trades” for the branch.
  • Responsible for answering the switchboard as well as be responsible for the maintenance and repairs of telephone equipment at the branch level (working with the IT department).
  • Responsible for the collection and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Responsible for all typing for the branch (i.e. quotations, purchase orders, invoices, etc.)
  • Responsible for all filing.
  • Responsible for the itineraries of all sales department personnel and others as needed.
  • Work with Payroll Department to maintain current records.
  • Responsible for coordinating with the Purchasing Department to maintain adequate supplies for the office, salesmen, etc.
  • Responsible for running errands, delivering quotations to customers, etc. as requested by supervisor.
  • Assist A/P in setting up some accounts.
  • Assist A/R in setting up some accounts.
  • Assist Sales Department in setting up/receiving new inventory.
  • Assist Rental Managers in typing/creating rental contracts when necessary.
  • Responsible for any miscellaneous duties requested by supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor local market pricing and report weekly
  • Call on assigned accounts at least once every two weeks and maintain reports on all sales engagements and submit to manager.
  • Target new potential customer for parts, service and body shop.
  • Initiate surveys, share results with department managers to improve customer happiness.
  • Maintain company vehicle as required and keep vehicle clean at all times.
  • Assist in maintaining the parts department inventory.
  • Deliver parts to customer in accordance with purchases.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driver's abstract
  • Experience with truck parts inventory preferred
  • Knowledge of heavy duty/medium duty truck inventory
  • Good written and oral communication skills and eagerness to improve
  • Strong listening skills as they relate to workload, time management and setting priorities in an unsupervised environment
  • Effective problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
