Job summary

GALLS, LLC seeks a seamstress/tailor to read customer needs, take measurements, and perform alterations including hems, waist adjustments, patches, and name strips. You will operate a heat press and industrial sewing machines, meeting production deadlines to support our uniforms business.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, alterations experience preferred (training provided), and ability to read English work instructions.

What You Will Do

• Read and accurately identify the customer's needs per the Work Instruction Document
• Take necessary measurements and mark garments for alterations, with the ability to problem-solve individual sizing issues
• Operate a heat press safely and efficiently
• Perform uniform sewing, alterations, and embellishments with accuracy and efficiency, to include taking up stride, lengthening/shortening tails on shirts, tapering shirts, adjusting waists, hemming trousers, mending tears, replacing zippers, applying patches, applying name strips, applying striping, and applying patches
• Operate industrial sewing machinery and meet production deadlines
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

What You Will Bring

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Previous experience in Alterations preferred. GALLS will train!
• Well-versed in industrial Sewing machines, preferred. GALLS will train!
• Ability to effectively read/receive work instructions in English
• Extremely detail-oriented and quality-focused - you're not happy with mistakes
• Solid communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, bend, stretch, twist, and lift, with or without reasonable accommodation
