Job summary

ALS Minerals in Tucson is seeking a facilities manager to supervise the sample preparation plant, lead a dedicated team, and ensure safe, efficient operations. You will coordinate production, logistics, and quality control while meeting financial targets and driving continuous improvement.

Strong leadership, clear communication, and a background in geology or chemistry are essential. The role involves shift oversight and engagement with health and safety programs, audits, and staff development

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years management or supervisory experience in a production, manufacturing, industrial or laboratory environment.
Post-Secondary Education ( Diploma or Degree in Geological or Chemical Sciences preferred).
Experience in the Mining, Minerals, or geology industries preferred.
Excellent command of the English language, strong written and verbal communication.
Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team while ensuring safety and quality.

Responsibilities

Oversee the branch and personnel for the minerals sample preparation facility in Tucson, ensuring production, workflow coordination, and sample logistics.
Meet or exceed financial targets including Net Revenue, EBIT, and ROSE and manage on-site human resources, scheduling, and employee relations.
Promote safety culture, uphold health and safety policies, and ensure quality program mandates and audits are completed.
Recruit, train, and develop staff; manage performance, attendance, and escalations; supervise shift coverage (day, afternoon, graveyard).
Maintain quality documentation and ensure adherence to established procedures for analytical quality.
