Job summary

MSALABS, a global geochemical laboratory services provider, is seeking a full-time Assistant Lab Manager in Fairbanks, Alaska. The role reports to the Laboratory Manager and supports daily operations, quality control, and staff development.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in chemistry/geochemistry or related fields, 3+ years of lab experience, and supervisory exposure. Expect regular hours with on-call duties and potential travel for training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Geochemistry, Earth Sciences, Environmental Science, Materials Science or related disciplines.
• Minimum of 3 years’ laboratory experience.
• Some supervisory or management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory workflows to ensure testing is completed efficiently and on schedule.
• Assist with client jobs in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Coordinate maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment to minimize downtime.
• Support inventory management including tracking consumables and procurement needs.
• Enforce quality control procedures and ensure compliance with laboratory standards.
