Airgas USA, LLC in Houston, TX is hiring an Assistant Branch Manager to support the Branch Manager in coordinating route drivers, deliveries, and daily operations at the Houston retail shop.

The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance (OSHA/DOT/FDA), staff development, customer service, and driving continuous improvements in distribution processes. Monday–Friday schedule, with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience creating and implementing plans that advance business success.
• Enjoys working with a wide variety of people with different perspectives and backgrounds.
• Demonstrated knowledge of order entry, data research, and computer skills necessary to support customers and suppliers.
• Proficiency in truck routing protocols and the shipping of hazardous materials as well as comprehensive understanding of DOT regulations and FDA compliance requirements.
• A thorough understanding of products, services, and associated technologies, or a curiosity and readiness to learn.
• Experience guiding a team of two or more associates, with a demonstrated ability to effectively support professional development, including coaching, accountability, and performance reviews.
• Ability to read, analyze, and foster understanding of general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to perform calculations in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages to support informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Support and coordinate route drivers and customer deliveries.
• Assist with safety management and regulatory compliance.
• Drive sales activity and staff development.
• Maintain facility and manage branch resources.
• Handle DOT documentation and paperwork.
• Plan loads, routes, and scheduling.
• Liaise with Branch Manager on coaching the team.
