Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service in Rochester, MN is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to support daily branch operations and lead drivers to ensure timely, safe, and efficient service. This role requires a CDL Class A or completion of company CDL training within 90 days, plus 1+ year leadership in transportation.

Typical hours are Monday–Friday, with potential weekend overtime and paid OT after 40 hours. Starting pay ranges from $26.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license or successfully complete company paid CDL training program within 90 days of employment.
• 1+ years of experience in the transportation industry and leadership preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support daily branch operations and lead drivers in day-to-day activities.
• Complete routes for employees who are absent.
• Assist with daily morning duties such as sorting freight and loading trucks.
• Help track and update daily department reports.
• Monitor safety, DOT, and company policy compliance.
• Monitor freight flow and route performance; report issues to leadership.
• Recommend and implement measures to improve productivity, equipment performance, work methods, and customer service.
• Participate in weekly operational meetings.
• Provide feedback to management regarding performance, attendance or safety concerns.
• Assist in training and onboarding of new staff.
• Travel may be required.
• Perform other required duties as assigned.
