Job summary

Columbia Bank is seeking a Branch Manager / Banking Leader in Bellingham, WA to oversee daily operations, coach tellers and personal bankers, and drive sales within a client-focused banking team.

The role requires 3 years of retail banking experience and 2 years of supervisory work, with MLO responsibilities and strong attention to detail. Onsite work at 211 East Holly Street, Bellingham, WA 98225 is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s in banking, business, or related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
• 3 years of retail banking experience required.
• 2 years of management or supervisory experience preferred.
• 2 years of consumer and small business lending origination experience preferred.
• Proficient use of spreadsheets and banking computer systems; ability to operate office equipment.
• Strong customer service background in retail or banking.
• MLO duties require SAFÉ Act registration and mortgage-related authority.

Responsibilities

• Ensure branch meets or exceeds operations standards and audits.
• Monitor sales and service goals and coach team members to deepen customer relationships.
• Open new accounts, process loan requests, and gather credit information.
• Lead, train, and coach tellers; may oversee personal bankers.
• Oversee branch daily tasks such as openings/closings, wire transfers, collections, and stop payments.
• Provide proactive solutions and issue resolution aligned with service standards.
