Job summary

The Lake Community YMCA is seeking a Full-Time Branch Maintenance Director to lead facilities management and coordinate preventative maintenance across all building systems. The role oversees repairs and contracts, ensures safe operation of pools and mechanicals, and drives preventive programs.

The position requires supervisory and administrative skills, strong communication, and the ability to plan and problem-solve.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate overall facility maintenance and preventative maintenance planning.
• Ensure proper operation of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building systems.
• Oversee repair work, supervise contractors, review bids and select vendors.
• Supervise housekeeping services and manage staffing schedules.
• Maintain records of equipment warranties, age, replacements, and repairs.
• Maintain inventory for critical components and supplies.
• Coordinate with fire, health, and building departments for regulatory compliance.
• Develop and monitor budgets for maintenance plans and expenditures.
• Recruit, train, and evaluate assigned staff and volunteers; motivate teams.
• Participate in YMCA fundraising and strategic planning discussions.
• Advise leadership on maintenance issues and capital project planning.

Full-Time Branch Maintenance Director at the Lake Community YMCA

Salary:

$44,000 - commensurate with experience

Responsibilities:

• Provides overall coordination of facility maintenance, including planning and developing preventative maintenance.
• Ensures the proper operation of all mechanical systems, pool equipment and water, heating and cooling systems, filtration systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, exercise equipment, and other related building systems.
• Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner. Oversees all contractors that work in the facility and grounds. May request and review bids and recommend selection of contractors.
• Provide overall supervision and coordination of housekeeping services
• Develops system to accurately record and track equipment warranties, age of equipment, replacement parts and repairs.
• Ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available as needed. Maintain inventory for heavy wear items.
• Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building depts., etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.
• Develops budgets supporting the preventative and annual maintenance plans and monitors expenditures against budget.
• Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs assigned staff and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
• Participates with other members of management in the YMCAs fundraising campaign.
• Advises management on maintenance issues and projects as requested.
• Be a part of leadership team to assess annual plan of capital projects, consistent with the YMCAs strategic plan.
