Job summary

The State of Hawai'i is seeking a Branch Manager/Librarian IV for the Lihue Public Library to lead library operations and facilities management. The role oversees staff across professional, paraprofessional, clerical and janitorial roles to ensure high-quality service and regional support for smaller libraries.

Responsibilities include strategic planning, budget oversight, cataloging and reference services, and collaboration with other departments to maintain responsive public library services

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university.
• Three and one-half years of progressively responsible professional experience in librarianship (e.g., selection, acquisition, cataloging and classification, collection development, reference and readers' advisory, or library services).
• At least one year of experience comparable to Librarian IV.

Responsibilities

• Serve as branch manager of a large public library and oversee overall operation and facility management.
• Supervise professional, paraprofessional, clerical and janitorial staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide regional support to smaller and midsized libraries and maintain strong relationships with support offices and other regional libraries.
