Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university.
• Three and one-half years of progressively responsible professional librarianship experience in one or more major functional areas of librarianship (e.g., selection, cataloging and classification of materials, collection development and maintenance, reference and readers' advisory services, or development and promotion of library services).
• At least one year of experience must have been comparable to the Librarian IV.
• Desirable qualifications: experience working with the general public in a library setting; budget experience in materials acquisition and operational expenditures; day-to-day management of a library facility; possession of a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Serve as branch manager of a large public library and oversee the overall operation and facility management of the library.
• Also serves as the library's adult librarian and supervises professional, paraprofessional, clerical and janitorial staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide regional support to smaller and midsized libraries in the area within the scope of resources, and maintain strong working relationships with all support offices and other regional libraries.
