Job summary

Akron-Summit County Public Library is hiring a North Hill Branch Library Manager focused on adult librarianship to lead a team supporting our mission of learning, information services, and programs for all ages in Akron’s International District.

The role combines managerial duties with librarian responsibilities, including program development, merchandising, and collection maintenance, while supervising staff, managing budgets, and fostering community partnerships.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library and Information Science.
• Experience supervising staff and managing a library branch preferred.
• Knowledge of library services, operations, budgeting, and intellectual freedom.

Responsibilities

• Lead branch team to deliver reference, programming, collection maintenance, and public services.
• Oversee planning and merchandising of programs and services for the branch.
• Ensure branch security and financial stewardship of resources and budgets.
• Serve as liaison with community organizations, schools, and partners.
• Provide direct customer service, reference, and reader’s advisory as needed.
• Collaborate with the Friends of the Library group and management team.
