Job summary

MRC Global seeks a Branch Leader to drive safe, profitable operations and align branch strategy with corporate objectives. You will oversee customer service, purchasing, inventory, and logistics while leading a team to deliver results and maintain strong customer relationships.

The role requires a proactive, hands-on manager who can communicate clearly, manage budgets, and promote continuous improvement across branch activities.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• 4+ years in customer service, inside sales, and/or warehouse services with increasing responsibility.
• Proficiency with computers and software applications.
• Ability to communicate and transfer detailed knowledge to others.
• Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Willingness to be on call for 24-hour customer service.
• Willingness to travel with possible overnight stays.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.
• Certification to operate forklifts and heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Engage employees in safety guidelines and drive hazard identification and prevention.
• Ensure incident reporting is performed timely.
• Oversee corrective measures from incident investigations.
• Prepare and monitor the branch budget and expenditures.
• Supervise branch workflow across sales, service, warehouse, and logistics.
• Maintain cycle count programs as planned.
• Lead and develop staff with clear expectations and feedback.
• Identify and arrange training for employee success.
• Communicate policies and enforce DOT and SOX compliance.
• Develop annual branch business plans and growth strategies.
• Manage inside/outside sales activities, customer service, purchasing, and inventory control.
• Drive new business in collaboration with regional and corporate teams.
• Align branch strategy with National Accounts needs.
• Deliver unbeatable service standards and ethical partnerships.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and internal teams.
