Job summary

Mariner Finance is seeking a Branch Manager/Leader responsible for lending decisions, client retention, and team development at our Oregon City location. You will coordinate staff, review loan applications, and ensure excellent service to customers while meeting branch goals.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and knowledge of financial services programs, with a focus on compliant operations and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in Consumer Lending/Financial Services.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience or completion of lending training (e.g., Mariner’s BMT) or similar program.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Administration, Economics; or military rank, with experience substitutable for degree.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers and colleagues.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar programs and ability to learn financial software.
• Ability to complete duties timely and accurately.
• Demonstrated problem-solving, project leadership, and interpersonal skills in demanding situations.
• Must obtain applicable licenses to sell insurance products offered by the branch.
• Must work at the assigned branch location unless instructed otherwise.

Responsibilities

• Exercise lending authority when reviewing and approving applications and offering loan solutions that meet customer needs.
• Manage retention and maintenance of existing accounts, including lending and collecting, to meet branch targets.
• Coach branch staff with actionable feedback to achieve goals and reduce turnover.
• Prepare and submit reports reflecting branch activity and growth as needed.
• Develop business by networking with local establishments and building community relations.
• Implement internal branch auditing procedures to control negotiable items and records.
• Approve exceptions to policy as authorized, resolving product, service, and policy obstacles.
• Ensure policies are followed when monitoring monthly expenses against the annual plan.
• Investigate and resolve customer and employee inquiries and complaints.
• Attract high-quality, diverse talent and interview candidates, making recommendations for vacancies.
• Participate in meetings and development activities to stay current with industry trends.
• May perform additional functions including collections, loan applications, late payments, cashiering, phones, filing.
