Job summary

Library Systems & Services Llc is seeking a Branch Lead for the Burney Library, part of Shasta Public Libraries. This hands-on role brings library services to life through engaging programming, excellent service, and strong community relationships.

Location Burney Library; Pay $25.00 per hour; Schedule 32 hours per week, Tuesday through Saturday; Classification: Part-Time, non-exempt. The Branch Lead oversees daily operations, supervises staff, assists patrons, leads Storytimes, coordinates

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited institution or current enrollment in an accredited associate degree program required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least one year of experience in customer service, education, libraries, childcare, community services, or a related public-facing setting.
• Library experience, supervisory or team leadership experience, and experience leading children’s programs or group activities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily branch operations, including opening/closing, staff assignments, and service desk coverage.
• Perform circulation duties, manage patron accounts and holds, shelve materials, maintain collections, and create displays.
• Assist patrons with reference questions, reading recommendations, computers, printing, and digital library resources.
• Maintain a clean facility, sanitize surfaces, empty trash, and upkeep restrooms.
• Supervise, train, and coach branch staff; provide performance feedback and assist with evaluations.
