Job summary

Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin, IL is seeking a Part-time Branch Assistant to join a versatile, cross-trained team. You will perform catalog searches, assist patrons with readers’ advisory, register cards, and handle check-ins across two branches (South Elgin and Rakow).

Hours: 18 per week, including weekday/evening/weekend shifts. $18.00 per hour with prorated time-off benefits. We value reliability and a positive patron experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge and experience with basic computer applications and mobile devices.
• Bilingual English/Spanish language skills a plus.
• Must have reliable transportation to work at multiple branches.
