Scout Motors in Novi, Michigan seeks an experienced Brake System Development Engineer with 10+ years of hands-on brake system development, validation, or testing in an OEM or Tier-1 setting.

You will lead design verification planning and execution, perform brake performance and durability tests, analyze data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality and compliance across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in automotive brake system development, validation, or testing.
• Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
• Strong knowledge of DVP&R, brake performance testing, durability testing, and environmental validation.
• Experience with NVH testing, data acquisition, and test data analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and test automotive brake systems.
• Create and execute DVP&R activities.
• Perform brake performance, durability, NVH, and environmental validation testing.
• Conduct test execution, data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure brake system performance, quality, and compliance.
• Support issue investigation, root cause analysis, and continuous product improvements.
