Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an enthusiastic Active Chassis & Actuation Design and Release Engineer II to join our Detroit Metro area team. The role focuses on leading hardware design, packaging, development, and release of brake system modules and actuation components, ensuring vehicle-level objectives are met.

The position involves leading diagnostics, managing supplier deliverables, and supporting manufacturing, service, and quality teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited university.
• 5+ years of automotive electrical/electronics engineering experience.
• Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware design, packaging, development, and release of brake system modules and actuation components.
• Manage supplier deliverables including hardware, software, CAN, DV/PV testing, EMC, and parts delivery.
• Control bill of materials, CAD drawings, DFMEAs/DVP&Rs, and source packages during release.
• Support purchasing, manufacturing at vehicle plants, and service/quality teams (PPAP, warranty analysis).
• Lead root-cause analysis with cross-functional teams using systems like GIMS, RMS, IDS.
