Job description


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Reads and interprets blueprints.

  • Calculates bend allowances for various material types and thicknesses.

  • Selects proper punch and die tooling.

  • Sets-up, adjusts, and operates Brake Press to perform a wide variety of operations on a diversified line of work.

  • Sets-up, adjusts, and operates Brake Press to run prototype jobs and new parts orders.

  • Writes set-up sheets and understands advanced programming functions.

  • Inspects parts using precision measuring equipment and documents inspection data.

  • Cleans and organizes work area.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

One year certificate from college or technical school; minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training and a High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, memos, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization in small groups or one-on-one.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
