Job summary

Zoox is seeking an experienced engineer to own hydraulic braking system development, testing and integration. You will work closely with Chassis Engineering and external suppliers to deliver robust brake control functions and firmware releases.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years hands-on automotive or aerospace experience.
• Direct ownership of functional development, tuning or validation for hydraulic braking systems (ABS, ESC, TCS, e-Brake).
• Experience debugging hardware-software-firmware boundary issues.
• Extensive experience with HIL test benches for automated firmware regression testing.
• Strong understanding of software release processes and change management.

Responsibilities

• Author, refine, and maintain comprehensive technical specifications for brake controls with suppliers and internal teams.
• Lead suppliers in developing brake control functions to meet performance targets and deliver firmware releases on schedule.
• Design and develop diagnostics scripts/tools to streamline system troubleshooting and validation.
• Lead triage, resolution, and impact assessment of supplier firmware defects with architecture and design teams.
• Collaborate with AI, Mechatronics, Computer Vision, and Robotics teams to integrate innovations into the vehicle platform.
