Job summary

UCLA is seeking a reliable Staff Research Associate for the Brain and Body Lab in the Psychology Department. The role involves coordinating a federally funded study on brain-gut function in youth, designing experiments, programming tasks, recruiting participants, and overseeing lab operations under Dr.

Bridget Callaghan. The SRA will manage IRB submissions, supervise undergraduates, and assist with data analysis and manuscript preparation.

Qualifications

• At least one prior lab-based research experience in psychology or related field.
• Experience with neuroimaging data acquisition and analysis is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with participants of varying ages.
• Excellent oral and written communication for publications and IRB work.
• Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation for protocol adherence.
• Proficient general computing skills on Mac and PC systems.
• Understanding of standard lab research methods and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct a federally-funded research study on brain-gut function in youth.
• Program experimental tasks and recruit/schedule participants.
• Run research sessions and analyze data collected from various modalities.
• Maintain and update the participant recruitment database and IRB documents.
• Supervise undergraduate research assistants and assist with manuscript preparation.
