Job summary

Belden is seeking a braiding operator to tend continuous braiding machines in a manufacturing environment. You will follow production specs, set up machines, and monitor outputs to meet daily goals while adhering to safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include reading shop orders, installing gears and bobbins, verifying materials, adjusting tension, inspecting start-up samples, and maintaining equipment. A high school diploma and 1–2 years in manufacturing are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to operate machinery safely and follow safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Reads Shop Order and Manufacturing Specification to determine machine set-up, materials required, and quantity to run.
• Sets up machine as required, including installing change gears, tension components, and bobbins.
• Verifies raw materials delivered per Manufacturing Specification.
• Adjusts tension on the take-up.
• Inspects start-up sample for conformance and coverage.
• Inspects braided product for conformance and defects.
• Trims loose ends after bobbin changes.
• Keeps braider head clean and track plates oiled.
