Upper Darby School District is seeking qualified seasonal Coach candidates for Beverly Hills Middle School in Upper Darby, PA. The role requires knowledge of lacrosse, strong coaching techniques, leadership, and mentoring to foster sportsmanship and high standards.

Qualifications

• Prior successful coaching experience, preferably at the high school and/or college level.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• A strong character with a team-oriented spirit, and the ability to connect meaningfully with students throughout our diverse community.
• Considerable knowledge of and experience coaching that sport, including competitions, practices, and strength/conditioning.
• Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work.
• High school or collegiate playing experience.
• Experience working with middle and high school-aged students.
• A positive student-centered approach to coaching.
• Demonstrated technical, theoretical, and applied knowledge pertinent to the assigned sport.
• CPR and first aid certified or the ability to become certified.

Responsibilities

• Reports To: Director of Athletics.
• Provide leadership and general team management in daily practice, skills, and character development.
• Remain current with theories and techniques in their sport.
• Attend all coaches' meetings and collaborate with assistant coach(es) and student manager.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coaches, athletic administrators, students, parent body, and the community.
• Evaluate and assess players' skills and select team rosters.
• Responsible for team equipment.
• Keep the scorebook current and available.
• Initiate appropriate and regular communication with student-athletes and parents.
