Job summary

Upper Darby School District is seeking qualified seasonal Girls' Basketball Assistant Coach at Upper Darby High School. Immediate starting date with duties including coaching, mentoring, and fostering sportsmanship within a diverse school community.

Ideal candidates possess coaching experience at high school/college level, strong communication, and a student-centered coaching philosophy. CPR/First Aid and required clearances are required or must be obtained. Part-time position in Drexel Hill, PA.

Qualifications

• Prior successful coaching experience, high school or college level preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Team-oriented with ability to engage diverse student groups.
• Knowledge of sport, competitions, practices and conditioning.
• High school or collegiate playing experience.
• Experience with middle/high school students.
• Positive student-centered coaching approach.
• CPR and first aid certified or willing to become.
• Clearances required: Act 34, Act 151, FBI fingerprint.
• Strong alignment with the district mission and values.
• Basic computer operations knowledge.
• Meets PA Public School employment criteria.

Responsibilities

• Reports To: Director of Athletics.
• Lead coaching and mentoring in practices, drills and team activities.
• Foster diversity and inclusivity aligned with district mission.
• Perform duties as assigned by athletics director or administrator.
• Attend coaches' meetings and coordinate with assistant coaches and student manager.
• Maintain relationships with coaches, students, parents and community.
• Evaluate players, manage rosters and monitor academic progress.
• Oversee equipment, scorebook, transportation and facilities as needed.
• Communicate with student-athletes and parents on a regular basis.
• Adhere to school procedures for injuries, transportation, and participation.
