Title: Head Boys Lacrosse Coach (2025‑2026) – Part‑time, Spring Season

Job Description

St. Rose High School, a Catholic, co‑educational high school located in Belmar, NJ, seeks an experienced and dynamic individual to serve as the Head Boys Lacrosse Coach. The Head Coach will shape the lacrosse program, fostering a positive and competitive environment for student‑athletes. The primary goal is to instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training to achieve team and individual success while promoting sportsmanship, self‑discipline, and confidence.

Responsibilities
  • Coach and develop student‑athletes in technical, tactical, and physical aspects of lacrosse.
  • Coordinate and support a staff of assistant coaches in conjunction with the Athletic Director.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, coaches, and school administrators.
  • Manage the program’s logistics, scheduling, travel, and budgetary responsibilities.
  • Model sportsmanship, maintain a positive team culture, and uphold school and league policies.
  • Oversee student‑athlete safety and ensure compliance with league safety requirements.
  • Assist in player recruitment and retention as part of the school’s athletic program.
  • Attend required coaching clinics, trainings, and continue professional development.
  • Serve as a liaison between coaches, parents, and the athletic department for program planning.
Qualifications
  • Head‑coach experience at the high‑school level preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of high‑school assistant‑coach experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with technology, social media, and marketing communications.
  • At least 60 college credit hours.
  • Monmouth County substitute teacher certification or ability to obtain one.
  • In‑depth knowledge of lacrosse techniques, strategies, and rules.
  • Leadership and motivational abilities to inspire student‑athletes.
  • Commitment to an inclusive team culture.
Certifications & Registration
  • Valid CPR and AED certification (NJSIAA regulations).
  • Completion of NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Course within 120 days of hire; subsequent components within 60 days.
  • Training in Concussion Awareness and heat‑acclimatization compliance as required.
  • Background check and fingerprint clearance with the Diocese of Trenton’s VIRTUS training.
Working Conditions
  • Physical demands include climbing, stooping, kneeling, occasional lifting, and significant fine finger dexterity.
  • Season schedule involves a mix of practice, travel, and competition, requiring flexibility during the spring season.
  • Work environment includes the campus fields, locker‑room areas, and administrative office space.
