Proviso Township High Schools District 209 seeks an Athletics/Activities Assistant Coach to support the Head Coach in planning, implementing, and evaluating all facets of the sport, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and competitive program for student-athletes. Qualifications

• Requires Illinois teaching certificate or recognised coaching cert.
• IHSA rules knowledge and safety training required.
• CPR/AED and concussion trainings mandatory.
• Background check and fingerprints required.
• Title IX training to ensure compliance.
• Coaching certification through ASEP/NFHS/IHSA preferred.
• Concussion certification must be current.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach in designing skill drills and conditioning.
• Provide feedback on technique and sportsmanship.
• Help with game-day logistics and equipment prep.
• Maintain equipment inventory and storage.
• Ensure IHSA rules and safety protocols are followed.
• Track athlete eligibility and required docs.
• Collaborate with staff, parents, and administration.
• Support schedule planning and travel coordination.
